About Ciprofloxacin HCL -BP-USP-EP

It is used to treat bacterial infections in many different partsof the body. Ciprofloxacin oral liquid and tablets are also used to treatanthrax infection after inhalational exposure. This medicine is also used totreat and prevent plague (including pneumonic and septic emic plague).Ciprofloxacin may mask or delay the symptoms of syphilis. It is not effectiveagainst syphilis infections. Ciprofloxacin extended-release tablets are onlyused to treat urinary tract infections, including acute uncomplicatedpyelonephritis. Ciprofloxacin belongs to the class of drugs known as quinoloneantibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. However,this medicine will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections.
