Esomeprazole Magnesium BP/USP/EP About

Esomeprazole Magnesium is the magnesium salt of esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) belonging to the benzimidazole class. It works by selectively and irreversibly inhibiting the gastric H/K-ATPase enzyme in stomach parietal cells, effectively reducing gastric acid secretion. This mechanism makes it useful in treating acid-related disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and ZollingerEllison syndrome.
